𝗙𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗜’𝘃𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 & 𝗕𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 For over 2 years, I've worked in the hospitality industry, particularly in Food & Beverage, and it has completely changed how I view service, leadership, customers, and business operations. Before joining the industry, I thought F&B was simply about serving food and attending to guests. Now, I know there's much more behind the scenes. Here are 5 key Interesting things I've learnt so far: 1️⃣ 𝗛𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝘀𝘁 You learn to communicate professionally, handle complaints, interact with different personalities, and confidently express your ideas. 2️⃣ 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗺𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 A positive work environment thrives on respect, structure, and accountability. Being approachable is important, but so is setting standards. 3️⃣ 𝗚𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱 Great food matters, but how guests are welcomed, treated, and attended to often determines whether they return. 4️⃣ 𝗛𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗰 Inventory management, cost control, timing, customer satisfaction, coordination, and service delivery all work together to create a seamless guest experience. 5️⃣ 𝗛𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝘂𝗻 It's demanding and sometimes challenging, but I genuinely enjoy being part of an industry that allows me to learn, grow, and interact with people every day. Two years may not seem like much, but I've gained valuable lessons that continue to shape my professional journey, and I'm excited for what lies ahead. Are you also in Hospitality? Lets connect!
